Dear Parents and Guardians: Please note that if your child has an influenza -like illness (fever of over 100 degrees F and either sore throat or cough), we report this to the state of NH as part of their illness surveillance efforts.  Please be sure to let the main office know this when you call your child in as absent so that we can report accurately.  Thank you for your efforts to keep our school community healthy! Eileen Moran, School Nurse

Newspaper Club:The next meeting of Newspaper Club will take place after school on Tuesday, 2/19 in Room 125. Members should have their articles ready to be reviewed for editing! See Ms. Ramsdell with anyquestions or email lramsdell@orcsd.org

The 7th and 8th grade baseball clinic will be held every Wednesday from 4-5:30. It will be in the MPR at the high school. We have plenty of team bats if the kids don't want to bring all their equipment. Just bring a glove and comfortable clothes. The clinic will run until March 13th (We will not practice over February break). This is a good opportunity for the kids to get ready for their upcoming season as well as work with the HS varsity coach and players. Please email head coach, Cam Calato, with any questions, camcalato@gmail.com.

Please join the ORMS Outing Club for our next after-school event:  a trip to the UNH indoor climbing wall on Wednesday, February 20, from 3:05-5:30 pm. Spirit Club is meeting next Tuesday in room 228. We are busy planning a 6th grade social coming up in March. Don’t forget about Pajama Day on Friday February 22nd!

Bridge Club Congratulations to the winners of the in-club game that ran from January 4 through February 8.  Emily Walsh took first place overall with 55 Match points, topping the best players from the High School. Paige Stehle took second place in ORMS with 38 Match points.  Sarah Laliberte was third with 37 ½ Match points and Andy Li was fourth with 33 Match points.  Jamie Gehing, Marlise Hyde and Sarah Boler tied for fifth place.  Many other students also did extremely well but did not play every week, which lowered their total score.  In all, more than 30 Middle School students participated.  Most importantly, everyone had fun and learned more about the game of Bridge. For the first time in many years, the ACBL is holding a Youth tournament in the local area.  On March 23 and March 24, Youth events will be held at the Dover Elks Club, which is less than 10 minutes away from ORMS.  Current and former Bridge Club members who have enjoyed the tournaments in Massachusetts and the June field trips are encouraged to sign up to play on either one or both mornings of the tournament. Silver Masterpoints will be awarded to the winners.  Anyone who is interested should email Lisa Allison at lisamallison@outlook.com to get a permission slip. Bridge Club will not meet on February 22, the day before vacation, but Middle School players will be welcome at the ORHS Bridge Club after school on Thursday February 21.  Just take any first wave bus to the High School and you will see us in the café.
